Kelly Conlan

I was born and raised in the New York Metropolitan area. 

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a love of photography. 

I started exploring photography in high school by creating my first pinhole camera from a oatmeal container...and that is where it all began.    

I studied and graduated from New Paltz University, and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in the Visual Arts, with a concentration in painting.  While in college I incorporated my photography into my painting and sculpture.  This brought a whole new dimension to my pieces.

After I graduated from college I worked for one of New York City's premier photography studios for almost 2 decades.     

I am married to my supportive husband Patrick, and am the mother of 3 children who are now the inspiration of my work!!

Location,Location,Location!

I photograph exclusively on location using natural light. You choose the location: your home, a local park, an open field, the beach  etc... The possibilities are truly endless! If you would like some help in choosing the perfect location, I will work with you to find the most suitable place for your portrait needs.

Being a mom myself, I understand how tough it is for Moms to lug all of their clothes and props into a studio, only to have their child burn out as soon as the shoot begins.

I feel that children need to be photographed in their own surroundings, where they feel most comfortable.  I let the child direct the shoot and I am just there to capture it through the lens-as a painter studies the subject and applies paint on the canvas.

I specialize in capturing beautiful, natural portaits in a casual atmosphere. I feel that natural and ambiant light brings my photos to life instead of unnatural studio lighting.

As a mother of 3, I understand just how important it is to document each stage of your children's lives.  An artist at heart,  I feel that this is my true calling, the art of custom children's portraiture.
